A Fun Evening with Lots of Meaning

We will be taking a tour of Hope Ministries in Des Moines on Tuesday, September 21st. Come & get ideas and discover the many ways we can serve the less fortunate of our area. Get ideas for your small group, our church, your family, or even ways you might want to serve individually.

We will leave from the Walmart parking lot (south of the gas station) at 5:00 PM. The tour begins at 6 PM and last approximately 3 hours. Signup is necessary so we can tell the people of Hope Ministries how many will be coming. Sign up begins in the church lobby September 5th. Please note, childcare is not provided for this event. Saturday, October 2, 2010 at First Federated Church in Des Moines
A oneday breakaway during which Anne will deliver messages and conduct workshop to encourage women to grow deeper in their relationship with Jesus Christ through His Word. Join Anne, along with worship leader Fernando Ortega, for retreat & refreshment, instruction & inspiration, encouragement & exhortation.

Women of Faith
May 13-14, 2011 in Des Moines, IA

Ongoing ministries

Mom's In Touch...This ministry impacts children and schools world-wide for Christ by gathering mothers to pray. For more information on existing groups or on starting a new group for your child's school please contact Alisha Vetter (249-3766)

Small Groups...This is a great way to grow in your faith and build deep relationships with other women. Groups meet weekly or bi-weekly and can be at any time of the day or evening. Each group includes Bible study, prayer and fellowship. For more information please contact Amy McClintock (961-7498)

Restoration Project...Gather with these women who are 40 years and older for a time of fun, relaxation and restoration while building relationships with other women and growing closer to our Lord Jesus. Captivating -Unveiling the Mystery of a Woman's Soul:

This 10 week study by John & Stasi Eldredge begins on Thursday, September 2nd from 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM.
The message of Captivating is this: Your heart matters more than anything else in all creation. The desires you had as a little girl
and the longings you still feel as a woman are telling you the life God created you to live. He offers to come now,
as the Hero of your story--to rescue your feminie heart and release you to live as a women, fully alive. Book cost: $11.00

Bathing Babies in Prayer...A group of older women would consider it a priviledge to surround your baby with scripture based prayer. If you would like to have a Prayer Guardian for your baby or for information about becoming a Prayer Guardian please contact Carol Bower (961-5122)

His Hands...This ministry is to help meet the core needs of individuals and families in our community and beyond. You will be informed of practical ways to meet a variety of needs. For more information please contact Cathy Coffman (961-0053) or Heidi Pollock (961-0739)

Care Ministry...The Care Ministry Team provides meals to families in our church body during a time of need (ie: new baby, after a hospital stay, job loss, etc.), who are either not a part of a small group or where their needs outweigh the ability of the small group to sufficiently help. We also turn to this team to help prepare, bring or serve food for funerals at the church if needed. The Andrew Ministry...If you enjoy writing notes of encouragement to bless others then this ministry is for you. Please join this group of women in sending encouraging notes to members of our church body. For more information and on becoming a part of this ministry contact Anne Hull (962-9479)

Keepers At Home...A place for women of all ages to engage with others about similar daily struggles and find encouragement to help strengthen their relationships with Jesus Christ. This year's theme is "My Struggle, God's Strength". Keepers meets on the first Thursday morning of each month from 9:00-11:00 AM. Come for the fun, food, fellowship and free childcare! Apples of Gold...This 6 week mentoring time meets in homes, including Bible lessons, cooking demonstrations, dinner and fellowship. You will be blessed as you grow together in your love for God, your family and others. For more information contact Holly Watters (961-7827)
